Why kids around the world inspire you?

VidaManejo-Dharavi-Painting-2

When we think of Dharavi- the largest slum in South Asia- we imagine children with no future growing up in shabby rooms in the streets filled with chaos, crime and poverty. After our meeting with Hrithik – a 12-year old boy from Dharavi – we realized how wrong our pre-conceived notion was. Growing up in a one-room house in the midst of Dharavi, life is not easy for Hrithik, nonetheless he finds himself at peace when he is painting Lord Ganesha. One day, he hopes to be a professional painter. Here he shows one of his paintings. Join us to celebrate the talent of such children and let us all hope for their better future. (Name changed to protect identity).
